Every artist has secrets that are never to be divulged. However, despite a few "tricks" he wants to keep to himself, Jean-Claude Baudier has been quite keen to give others advice, and has shared his knowledge with the readers of Auto modélisme, a French magazine specializing in miniature cars.

The real secrets behind such beautiful dioramas tend to lie in the designer's imagination. He will need to find often unexpected materials, which will prove perfect - with talent and meticulous attention to detail - to emulate reality on a very small scale.

Jean-Claude does not use anything very sophisticated, just wood, paint, and recycled materials. But his extreme dedication to getting each detail exactly right and a great fineness of execution make Chrono 43's dioramas incredibly realistic, creating an astonishing illusion of movement. As you will see for yourself when looking at some of the pictures on this site, it is sometimes hard to tell the miniature model from the real thing.
